I was listening to Baby Geniuses the other day and a completely inane question came up; what do you like on your sandwhich?
One slice of white bread (can be toasted), a 2mm (at least) layer of peanut butter, and a healthy dollop of honey mixed in.
What about you?
@vishae My “signature” sandwhich has evolved over the years, but it’s currently peanut butter, strawberry jam, and cheese on pumpernickel 😛
(I do also like a good roast beef and Guggisberg baby swiss with a bit of mustard on pumpernickel, but I don’t get that often.)
@vishae back in the day.. I was rather partial to fried egg, marmalade (coarse cut dark) cheddar cheese and a scrape of mustard. Currently though a simple cheese and pickle..
@smokey I’m trying to wrap my head around strawberry jam and cheese being in the same sandwich…
@stickmandiaries what changed? Why only cheese and pickle now?
@vishae I had them when I was younger and more active 🙂 But I like cheese and pickle.
@vishae Haha! It’s all four of the old food-groups in one go—but as for the why of it, you’d have to ask sub-5-year-old me!
@vishae Fried egg with a little salt and pepper, topped with a thin fried slice of pancetta on a toasted slice of crusty sourdough.
Actually, this is what I eat most mornings. XD;
@smokey This reminds me of @kimonostereo really getting into eating his hotdogs with peanut butter.
Is the jam and cheese thing kinda like how people eat their turkey with cranberry sauce? Or lately, pickles with mayo and peanut butter?
@kyubikitsy I have no idea how or why I invented it—it’s not a trend, but something unique to me, as everyone gives me strange looks when I put cheese on my PB&J—and it has been my sandwhich for as long as I can remember, so it just seems natural at this point.
@kyubikitsy that sounds pretty tasty. I’m put into mind of the sandwich that the girl had in Laputa (Castle in the Sky). Miyazaki made egg on toast look really appealing.
